RoaringRiver Greased Line Spey Rod (Traditional Style)
Jock Scott over a century ago wrote of Greased Line fishing as performed
by A.H.E. Wood to present a fly broadside to Salmon to entice the
salmon to strike. This TRADITIONAL form of spey casting maintains
a relatively fixed line length of 65-100 feet allowing you to cover
water without retrieving or lengthening line on each cast; keeping
you less tired and more focused on your prize. These powerful designs
use the full bend of the rod, flexing through the mid-section when
fully loaded. The ROARINGRIVER GREASED LINE SERIES of two-hand rods
offer the ultimate combination of power and grace in a rod and provide
you perfect swing speed and fly control. For spey casts from 50
to 150' the RoaringRiver Greased Line two-hand rod series will truly
allow you to fish the water "Fine and Far off."
To address the TRADITIONAL style of two-hand casting, our field
experts have helped to define the ROARINGRIVER GREASED LINE RODS;
nine rods ranging from a 14' #8-9 wt to a 17'#10/11 wt. Designed
to cast long belly floating lines using a long casting stroke, this
traditional form of spey casting maintains a fixed line of 65 to
100 feet. They allow you to cover water without retrieving or lengthening
line on each cast; keeping you less tired and more focused on the
prize. These powerful designs use the full bend of the rod, flexing
through the mid-section when fully loaded.
GREASED LINE GLX - The Greased Line GLX is crafted with our proprietary
GLX grapite along with the finest for components available today.
Featuring Hopkins and Halloway guides and exquisitely crafted Portuguese
cork handles, fitted with a special composite core end-cap and fore-grip.

an ivory style insert engraved with a fly graphic.
GREASED LINE DEVERON - A special graphite blend needed for the optimum
actions to cast long belly lines using methods as traditional as
the Deveron River itself. Featuring premium Hopkins and Holloway
components and beautiful Portuguese cork handles.

RoaringRiver Dredger Spey Rods (Skagit Style)
The term "SKAGIT CASTING" was coined in the early 1990's
to describe on offshoot system of spey casting being used at the
time by steelheaders in the Skagit River area. It was mostly characterized
by its relatively short shootinghead lines. However in its original
context, the term skagit casting described a method of casting that
exercised one particular premise to accomlish its casts- the sustained
anchor concept. This works off the principles of rod loading that
are the opposite of contacts spey casting. sustained anchor casting
uses the " unsticking" of a thoroughly "stuck"
flyline from the river's surface as the mechanism for creating casting
energy. Allowing you to change the direction of the cast and providing
the primary mechanism for loading the rod, the casts that work best
with this concept are the Circle Spey, Snap T. The Perry Poke and
Skagit style Doublespey.
The ROARINGRIVER DREDGER SERIES is designed with a moderate/fast
taper and softer action to balance the medium stroke required to
cast short to medium belly lines used for these techniques, from
the light 12'9", #6/7GLX, to the powerful 14', #9/10.
When you need to get down fast in swift, deep drifts, the new ROARINGRIVER
DREDGER will comfortably manage the sinking tips and weighted flies
needed for SKAGIT style casting. The seven models, ranging from
12'9" #6/7 to 14' #9/10, are designed to throw short to medium
belly 38 to 62 ft. lines using the balanced medium casting stroke,
refined over time by the northwest steelhead fishermen. Requiring
less back cast space than traditional casting, this series of rods
provide excellent distance with some shoot to the cast.
DREDGER GLX - This is the top of the Dredger line, featuring our
proprietary GLX graphite along with the finest rod components available
today. With nickel titanium recoil guides by REC these cast as slick
as they look. Exqisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles with a
special composite cork end-cap and fore-grip are fitted to our exclusive
offset-oval sculptured barrel real seat, each with an ivory style
insert engraved with a fly graphic.
DREDGER KISPIOX - For a balanced medium casting stroke, this special
graphite belnd is tailored to the exact specifications needed to
perform Skagit style casts. With Hopkins and Holloway components
and beautiful Portuguse cork handles, the Kispiox rods are as beautiful
and as powerful as the river they're named after.

RoaringRiver Stinger Spey rods (Scandinavian Style)
So what's the big deal about the way we SCANDINAVIANS get our Spey
cast out there? Since its beginnings in the 1960's, Scandinavian
influence from top tournament casters and fishermen, schooled on
famous Salmon/Seatrout rivers of Sweden and the west coast of Norway,
have played a mojor role in the development of our highly versatile
style. Our style provides tremendous distance, depth and presentation
control, all with minimal effort. We use a looped Shooting Head
line, available in differing densities, ranging in length from 34
to 42 feet depending on rod length along with thin diameter shooting
line. Teamwork from a fast butt hand stroke and relative short uper
hand stroke, ( overall about half the movement of traditional style
casting ), a sudden stop to unload, forms narrow loops that can
slice bread. These very narrow loops help make very long casts turn
right over. This style cast is most effective with faster taper,
yet very light rods. Enter G.Loomis STINGER SERIES two-hand rods.
These rods have just the right action, a powerful butt transitioning
smoothly to a fast tip that will deliver the razor loops characteristic
of the Scandinavian method of spey casting. Our style will keep
you on the water longer, a smile on your face, and without a case
of the "jelly arms."
For the needs of the SCANDINAVIAN style of casting, we offer the
ROARINGRIVER STINGER series. With eight rods, ranging from 12'6"
to 15', these rods were designed to optimally cast floating or intermediate
shooting heads of 33 to 46 ft. This is the most recent development
in two-hand casting, a much faster, shorter stroke using the lower
hand (underhand casting). These rods help you generate high line
speed and give you great shooting distance casts. With a fast action
taper, these rods let you make overhead false casts, generating
the highest line speed possible. That's assuming you have sufficient
room for back casting, such as gravel bar or ocean beaches.
STINGER GLX - At first glance you'll notice the nickel titanium
recoil guides by REC, which are different both in looks and function.
Weighing about as much as one individual traditional guide, the
total weight of the rod is noticably lighter. They're also flexible,
making a mistake like catching a tree branch, nothing but a slight
hang up. Exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles with a special
composite cork end-cap and fore-grip fitted to our exclusive offset-oval
sculptured our proprietary GLX graphite tapered to the exact standards
of Skandinavian style casting.
STINGER ALTA - These tods help you generate very high line speed
thanks to a special graphite blend forulated for a fast action.
With premium Hopkins and Halloway components and beautiful Portuguese
cork handles, the Alta offers everything you could want for Scandinavian
style casting.

Cross Current Saltwater Fly
Its the age-old formula... find the moving water and find the fish.
Tides and currents - they're the keys to saltwater flyfishing. Where
current meets still water or dissimilar currents converge, edges
are created and the bait is trapped. It s these edges that flyfishers
seek... the "crosscurrents" where fish and fly meet!
Saltwater flyfishing is a passion - it's advantage fish, not angler.
A fanatical pursuit with zeal fueled by the degree of difficulty
required to reach the ultimate goal. It's fast fish and skinny water
for some... big fish and blue water for others. Sometimes it's finesse
and long leaders, but most of the time it's brute strength and power!
Creating fly rods for such a demanding fishery requires a lot of
dreaming and a lot of fishing. The final result is the most advanced
and uniquely different series of fly rods ever. Messrs. Pallot,
Wejebe, Rajeff and Loomis and a cast of hundreds shared their angling
and casting expertise to help us create our new "CrossCurrent"
saltwater fly rods.

Stream Dance Metolius Trout Fly
Beautifully designed to reflect the central Oregon spring creek
for which they were named, the Metolius is the workhorse of our
trout line-up. These are smooth casting fly rods with both accouterments
and the price scaled down a bit. They're made from a special blend
of two and sometimes three proprietary graphite's (no... we are
not telling you what they are). Metolius rods feature our exclusive
offset-oval reel seat with a beautifully engraved G.Loomis fish
on a delicate green insert. There are two different actions available
in the Metolius line: Presentation and High Line Speed. Also available
is a 13' 4" (3 piece) two-hand "trout spey" rod,
offering a uniquely different approach to some very technical fly
rod challenges. Salmon and Steelhead anglers have long under-stood
the advantages of the super long rod and now it's available on a
very nice 5/6-weight rod. It adds a totally new dimension to the
trout angler's arsenal.

Steelhead & Salmon Fly
Fishing for steelhead and salmon often result in addiction that
can easily be mistaken for mental instability. Yet you've been there
and understand the outcome and feeling of wanting more. Which is
why we, as determined as you are, set out to make your day full
of long casts, chilly water, and late fall wind as memorable and
successful as it can be. To provide performance and power when any
where you need it most. Knowing you've got a rod you can count on
for every facet of your game, gives you more time to concentrate
on fishing. Our steelhead and salmon fly rods start at #7 line weight
and go all the way up to the 11/12 weight spey rod. These are the
power machines, made to outwit the powerhouses in the river, which
translates into advantage angler. Our exclusive GLX rods are 25%
lighter than rods of comparable strength, allowing you to cast monster
casts with even weighted flies all day long. Our GL3 rods are lightweight,
forgiving. and extremely powerful, making them undoubtedly the best
performance value on the river today. Their stiffer tips help eliminate
the most common mistake in casting: the tailing loop. Even if it
means working that extra day to get it right and deliver rods that
provide you with total control power and performance you demand
and deceive.

Classic Fly Rods
Steelhead and salmon may well be the very reason G.Loomis exists.
We're positive it's why Gary Loomis exists. It was his pursuit for
the ultimate ultra-light steelhead rods that started a line-up of
amazing fly rods for every fishing application. Some rods stood
out from the rest and remained the favorites for literally millions
of anglers worldwide. We're proud to call these two-piece rods,
THE CLASSICS.
As we journey into the future we can forget all the memorable days
on the water, the world records that amaze us all, or maybe the
feeling of that one special cast. That's why we celebrate these
Classics. They're the best of the best. No chances at all, just
the technology advanced TWO-PIECE RODS designed by Gary Loomis and
Steve Rajeff, that have gained favor and loyalty over the past twenty
years.
You already know about the advantages of GLX, with its unique "lighter
than air" balance, the subtle power, the castability and immediate
response. Factor in the high line speeds, unbelievably tight loops
and superior fish fighting power, these rods are the edge of the
envelope for both performance and technology.
GL3 rods on the other hand, offer the ultimate in light weight and
forgiveness as well as a great value. If you're looking for a rod
that will help you improve your casting stroke and amaze you with
its ability to handle fish, you'll find nothing quite like GL3.

What
explains the growth in the number of anglers picking up two-handed
rods? Big fish, easier to catch. A two-handed rod (also known as
a Spey Rod) will cast where there’s little room for a proper
backcast, into distant seams where a drag-free drift would beimpossible
with a regular rod. Not surprisingly, big fish find these lies appealing,
safe from predators including the average angler. Advances in rod
and line technologies have evolved hand in glove with technique
to make casting a properly designed two-handed rod a whole lot easier
than it was just a few years ago. |

We’re especially proud of the Caras®. Just in the short

Fenwick’s
tradition of technology continues to meet the specialized
needs of avid anglers. Modern fishermen are no longer generalists,
but specialists. They are bass fisherman, walleye fisherman,
fly fisherman or saltwater fisherman who identify themselves
by a specific technique or species. In response, Fenwick’s
tradition of technology continues to drive its designers,
engineers and pro staffers to develop sophisticated fishing
rods specifically designed for different angling specialties.
It’s why for nearly half a century Fenwick rods have
been known, and will always be known, in Phil Clock’s
words, “as the most thought-out fishing rods in the
world.” www.fenwickfishing.com |

HMX
Fast-Tapered, Fast-Actioned Cross-Scrim Graphite Performance
The dual-tapered HMX has a responsive IM7 graphite blank strengthened
by cross-scrim graphite running tip to butt. The cross-scrim graphite
fibers run perpendicular to the action fibers to add exceptional
crush-proof resistance. This also improves the strength and balance
in the butt section, making the HMX series ideal for situations
where quick reflex hook sets and lightweight are important. The
IM7 graphite material with cross-scrim construction provides exceptional
sensitivity and responsiveness. The SS304 hard chromium plated stainless
steel guides are exceptionally hard reducing guide weight by up
to 55% and are 20 times tougher than conventional guides. |
EagleGT
Classic Fenwick Performance At An Entry-Level Price
The Eagle® GT is a sleek, light, sensitive rod at an affordable
price. Its high performance internediate IM6 modulus graphite blank
is perfect for an experienced angler, but forgiving enough for a
beginner. Built with the same legendary technology as the HMG®
series, its actions are tailored to the application. Soft, sensitive
tips detect even the lightest take. Eagle® GT rods are availalble
in a wide variety of actions so you can chose one that's right for
the kind of fishing you do and it's iridescent finish is sure to
turn a few heads. |

The list of things that can enter an otherwise normal
life and monopolize every thought, consume every moment and
lead far past the threshold of obsession, is most assuredly
a list topped by fly fishing. Old-time string band music comes
close, but not quite. As you peruse the following pages, keep
one thing in mind – the way things are going, anything
this much fun will be illegal soon. Any new rod purchase should
be made post haste. www.stcroixrods.com |

Legend
Ultra
Let no one question your profound connection to nature. In the Good

the sea.” Fish returning from the sea is certainly implied.
For this express purpose we suggest a St. Croix Legend Ultra®
fly rod. The Legend Ultra’s award-winning design in high-modulus
SCIV graphite with ART™ and IPC® technology is graced
with slim-profile ferrules and top-shelf components. These are the
rods we completely redesigned and upgraded a couple years ago while
keeping the price a welcome reminder of a bygone era. No wonder
they are St. Croix’s most popular fly rods. |
Avid
Series
There’s also a time to get your hands on one of the new, completely
redesigned Avid Series® fly rods. That time is now. Featuring
our exclusive IPC® technology and slim-profile ferrules all
cloaked in a sultry canteen green pearl, these new rods are nothing

smoother action, the new Avids load smoothly and progressively down
the blank for a crisp casting stroke and a measure of feel typically
reserved for rods twice the price. With models covering everything
from spring creek surgery to casting for stripers from the beach,
these are great rods to enable passionate fishermen to build a comprehensive
quiver. A quiver replete with a gorgeous new selection of spey rods
we might add. |
Reign
Our time on this planet is finite. There are only so many hours
in the day. So many weekends in the year. Only so many years we’re
focused enough to fish even the smallest windows of time. Only so
many chances to fish one of the new St. Croix Reign™ fly rods.
Built from our premium SCII graphite, these new rods offer a forgiving
casting stroke at an equally forgiving price. With a buttery smooth,
versatile action and an amazing degree of feel these rods will appeal
to savvy freestone veterans as much as fly rod newcomers. In other
words, everyone hoping to milk a little more out of their day. |
Premier
One thing is for sure – if your place of employment is within
a moderate double-haul of some fishy water your midday repast is
no leisurely experience. On such a tight time frame, you take a
guess at which fly will work, tie it on and give ’er a go.
Guess wrong – fish wins. Guess right – yippie. Minutes
later you quickly pack up your St. Croix Premier® rod and get
back while the rest of the guys are still wiping mustard off their
shirts. Built from the same SCII graphite as our Reign™ series,
but with more modest components, the Premier series offers a smooth
moderate-fast action especially forgiving to beginners. |

Synchrotech
A combination of top quality lightweight materials, foolproof designs,
and sensible features, the Syncrotechs stack up against the finest
reels on the market, and at a lighter weight. Each Syncrotech spool
is machined from a solid bar of aerospace grade 6061 t-6 aluminum
for the ultimate in strength and light weight. Then we polish and
anodize each reel to a mirror finish that's as beautiful as it is
bulletproof. Every reel features fully-machined components and corrosion
- resistant, sealed stainless steel bearings and hardware. And the
three largest models boast a special anti-corrosion coating on key
eternal parts for the ultimate in saltwater protection. Each model
is simple to switch from right to left retrieve. Each feature a
palming rim for hands-on drag control. And each comes with a durable
3mm neoprene case for protection while both on the rod and off. |
Venture
In the old days, even the finest fly anglers thought of their reels
as little more than a line holder. Not to say they didn't appreciate
the craftsmanship of a finely machined fly reel, they just felt
the skills for fighting fish on a fly rod were with the fisherman,
not the workings of a reel. Their main requirement of a reel was
simplicity. They would appreciate our new Venture reels. A quality
reel at a bewildering price, each Venture reel is a sturdy, cast
aluminum vision of beauty and simplicity. Featuring a wide-range
adjustable disc drag, quick release spool, and a rich, champagne
gold anodized finish, the Venture reels are available in three sizes:
#3, #5 and #7. They all come with a padded case because, even though
they don't cost a king salmon's ransom, you'd hate for them to get
treated poorly. |
Eastfork
Failure is not something we take lightly on a reel's drag system,
or any other part for that matter. When we set out to create the
new EastFork reels we started with no preconceptions. We had no
set manufacturing technique, no preexisting components and no vision
of the final product. What came out of it is performance, and at
under $200, performance you'd expect to get from a reel costing
twice as much. With the new EastFork reels you won't have to loosen
the drag to save your tippet, or crank down to prevent a large fish
from spooling you. All three models are equipped with very strong,
smooth and sensitive drags that transition from a delicate, friction-free
startup, to controlled strength at any setting. This is accomplished
with a proprietary drag material that will allow you to look forward
to an eternity of reliable, and enjoyable, hours on the water. Forged?
Machined? How about both? We combined the best of each world to
accomplish a stable, intricately detailed marriage between spool
and body. They're lightweight, very strong and hassle free. A push
button spool allows quick extraction if needed, and switching left
to right is accomplished with a simple O-ring design. The richly
finished color, and a beautifully detailed wooden handle compliment
all rods, especially all the new G. Loomis models, making these
as nice to look at as they are to fish. |

Vortex
VO2 Disc Drag Fly Reel
Fly Fishing Reels For Big Fish
Our Vortex Fly Fishing Reel has more fish stopping disc drag surface
than any fly reel made. The Vortex VO2 fly reel is designed, inside
and out, to be the most reliable big fish reel on the market. The
VO2 fly reel performance advantages arise from the placement of
drag surfaces on the reel’s outside radius, maximizing surface
area. The VO2 fly reel has a huge composite cork-to-Rulon® drag
surface which enables it to dissipate the heat generated by a hard-running
fish more so than any other drag system. Hot materials expand and
change your drag tension just at the time when you need consistency
the most. With the VO2 fly reel in hand, your drag setting will
remain consistent throughout the battle. And a larger drag surface
ensures consistent fly reel performance over a wide range of settings.
Each indexed stop increases or decreases drag pressure in predictable
and precise increments. When it comes to landing the fish of a lifetime,
you can make no better choice than the Orvis Vortex VO2 fly fishing
reel.
Our largest arbor diameter fly reel
65% more drag surface than competing fly reels
The Vortex VO2 fly reel is machined from corrosion-resistant bar
stock, aerospace-grade, 6262-T6 aluminum for durability and precision
Sealed bearing system keeps corrosion, reduces maintenance
The Vortex VO2 fly reel is 20% lighter and has 25% more capacity

casting comfort and rod/reel system balance.

only 6" of line per revolution.

The Evolution is a high-end hybrid large arbor fly reel that is
a machining masterpiece. The first time you pick up the Evolution
you will know right away that this reel defines perfection - in
every way. This series was designed for those anglers who equally
appreciate both art and function. The cosmetic innovation and precision
workmanship of this series is only surpassed by the Evolution's
drag system which is precise and sensitive - capable of protecting
the lightest tippets even when battling world-class fish. To guarantee
the level of dependability consumers have come to expect from Ross
products, we have modeled the Evolution's drag system after the
highly successful Big Game series. The spoke designed frame and
extensively ventilated spool make this series incredibly lightweight,
yet the Evolution is built to endure a lifetime of flawless performance.
Each reel in this series is designed with a specific diameter and
width to maximize the properties of drag consistency and line retrieval.
The Evolution series is truly art in motion, and will satisfy the
demands of the most discriminating angler. |
The
CLA is an affordable hybrid large arbor fly reel that carries the
name of one of Ross' oldest and most popular series. However the
CLA is a big departure from the original Cimarron design. It incorporates
our newest generation drag mechanism that is extraordinarily smooth,
heat resistant and provides incredible stopping power. The CLA matches
the Cimarron in durability and affordable price, but offers a stronger
drag, greater drag range and sensitivity, more pleasant incoming
and outgoing sound, hybrid large arbor configuration, innovative
conversion mechanism and other additional features that anglers
have come to expect with modern fly reel design. Each reel in this
series is designed with a specific diameter and width to maximize
the properties of drag consistency and line retrieval. The CLA will
set a new standard for what anglers come to expect from an American
made, high-quality, reasonably priced fly reel. |

The Rhythm is a mid-priced hybrid large arbor fly reel that is built
around the Evolution series drag platform, but has a thickset build
with reduced machining and ventilation. The Rhythm drag system is
precise and sensitive - capable of protecting the lightest tippets
even when battling world-class fish. The Rhythm series was designed
to balance with today's modern rods. It is lightweight, yet built
sturdy enough to take the abuse of hardcore angling. Each reel in
this series is designed with a specific diameter and width to maximize
the properties of drag consistency and line retrieval. The Rhythm
series is perfect for those anglers who are equally concerned about
impeccable drag performance, gear aesthetics and rugged durability. |

The Cimarron is a conventional width fly reel that has been part
of the Ross USA product line for more than fifteen years. This award-winning
series is the best value in our USA line. Cimarron reels are also
the top choice for guides and outfitters because they are affordably
priced, never wear out and never fail - you won't find a better
value on the market today. Incorporating features that are only
available on higher priced reels, the Cimarron has become one of
the most popular fly reels in the world. For those anglers that
prefer conventional spool widths and "old school" design,
there is no better choice than a Cimarron! |
The
Big Game series is a mid-priced large arbor fly reel that is specifically
designed to battle big fish. With 6 square inches of effective drag
surface, and 13.5 pounds of dead lift weight, the Big Game series
has three times the effective drag of every cork drag reel tested.
Put simply, the BG series is the strongest fly fishing reel on the
market today; and it costs considerably less than most competitive
brands. A quadruple redundancy drag system ensures dependability
under the most demanding fishing conditions. By adding in features
like titanium drag components, water shedding grooves on palming
rim, a large, easily adjusted drag knob, you end up with the ultimate
big game fly fishing reel; and you won't have to mortgage your home
to own one. With a wide range of sizes available, the BG series
is appropriate for any fishing application, including Spey. |

STH SACCONI’S TURBINE POP CASSETTE
NEW! Automatic Adjustable Drag - AMAZING REEL TECHNOLOGY that adjusts
to the speed of Fish!
The numbered limited edition Sacconi's Turbine POP Cassette®
reel features the revolutionary Turbine Drag System. With a turbine
impeller encased in a chamber of special multi-viscosity fluid,
we've created an ultra-smooth action that automatically increases
drag as the fish runs faster. The Turbine Drag System produces no
inertial forces at startup so it's a real tippet saver. Spool overrun
is virtually impossible. The POP Cassette® system allows for
easy line changes.
Machined from solid 6061-T6 aircraft grade bar stock aluminum, the
Turbine POP is strong and lightweight. This reel will change the
way you fish - forever! Spare Cassette® included. For capacities,
see chart. Patented by R.L. Sacconi
