My divorce is final and I am back to guiding full time. I have been doing some part time guiding but just a few trips a week. Now I am on the lake daily again and it feels great. Trips are going good with a lot of big fish being caught. We are catching fish anywhere from 1 foot to 14 foot of water. The best baits of choice right now are a jig, 11” worms and top water such as spooks and chug bugs. We are also catching fish throwing crankbaits, flukes and traps. The lake is the best that I have seen in about 5 or 6 years. My clients have boated anywhere from 25 to 60 fish on some days. Some of the bites are so aggressive that they are almost ripping the rod out of your hands and we joke and say that it felt like he was doing about 90 mph when he hit that one. Another good aspect is the amount of small fish. Now I know that isn’t what you come to the big “G” for but it shows that the lake is back on the rise with the fish numbers.

The jig is one of my favorite baits to throw and it is on fire. Clients and I are having some of the hardest hits that we have had in a long time. The bite feels like someone has just laid a knockout punch to your jig.
