GUNTERSVILLE JUNE 2008Date Fished: 6/5/2008Water Temperature: 81 Water Clarity: 4 feet or greater Fished from 5-8:30 PM today. Typical summer weather, hot and fairly calm, about 91 when I started. Lake about 594.8 Caught 6, lost 2 due to CKF (catastrophic knot failure), had 2 fish come completely out of the water on a Spook but both missed it. 2 were about 16", 2 were 13-14" and two were 10-11". Two were caught on Paca Craws on a 5/16 weight, the others on a green pumpkin shakey head rig, all pitched at docks and were anywhere from 3-11 ft deep. Had one hit a Manns swimbait over a shallow hump, but that was one of the CKFs. If you lack confidence in worm fishing and want to know what a bite feels like, take a 5-6" finesse worm in whatever color works at your lake, a 1/8-3/16 oz sinker or shakey head, and pitch it at docks...this was something I read MANY years ago in BassMaster in an article by Guy Eaker, and its still good advice. You will get bit, sometimes small, sometimes big (caught an almost 5 pounder doing this Memorial Day weekend) If it works at Guntersville, which has an abundance of other cover, it should work at other lakes too, maybe even better.
