Your boat is probably one of the largest purchases you will
ever make. You maintain the vehicle used to pull your boat with frequent
washings and waxing to help its appearance and resale value. How do you
maintain your boat?
Surface
contamination of your craft's finish can be severe in our area due to
acid rain, hard water, high humidity, industrial fallout and dew exposure.
If your boat's finish has been neglected you should prepare the surface
with a safe surface prep formula to remove surface contamination, oxidation
and stains. Non-abrasive cleaners are recommended for most watercraft
surfaces. Meguiar's Heavy Duty Oxidation Remover removes heavy oxidation,
scratches, stains and tough water spots on fiberglass and painted surfaces.
It restores color by effectively removing surface degradation. It is a
safe alternative to rubbing compound. For moderate oxidation, stains,
and blemishes Meguiar's Color Restorer revives faded oxidized surfaces
to their original vibrant color. Both products can be applied by hand,
orbital polisher or high-speed polisher if you are familiar with the use
of high-speed polishers.
After surface preparation you will want to polish your boats surfaces
to create a brilliantly reflective deep gloss. Meguiar's Boat/RV Polish
will give you this sparkling luster while ensuring your finish receives
the rich nutrients it needs for gloss and depth of color. Hand or orbital
polisher application is recommended.
When you have obtained the shine desired, you should protect the surface
with Meguiar's Boat/RV Pure Wax. This specially-blended formula with rich
nutrients and conditioners for brilliance, clarity and protection is necessary
for protection from the severe environmental impact on your craft and
helps guard against UV damage. Hand or orbital polisher application is
also recommended for this product.
Maintaining your boats finish after waxing is easy with Meguiar's Quick
Clean Marine. This one-step product is simply misted over the surface
to remove contaminants, prevent water spotting and etching. It is removed
easily by rubbing with a terry towel. It enhances gloss and gives more
life to your wax. Always remember to wash your boat after each use with
boat wash such as Meguiar's Boat/RV Gel Wash which will not strip wax.
Never use household detergents or dish washing liquids, they will strip
any wax protection from your boat.
